I don't know what I expected from a book about bunnies, but this exceeded all my expectations. It was surprisingly dark, adventurous, captivating, cozy, emotional, everything at once. I got so emotionally attached to these bunnies. The story is so good, it surprised me every time. And this is supposed to be a kids book, I think?

Mi ci è voluto davvero parecchio per finirlo, purtroppo non posso dire per mancanza di tempo. Forse non ero nel mood giusto, forse perché l’ho trovato effettivamente un po’ lentino… ma se così fosse, sarebbe l’unica vera pecca di questo romanzo che è un classicone e al contempo una fiaba contemporanea e attuale coi fiocchi. Apprezzo tantissimo la particolarità e l’inventiva proprio dietro l’universo e il modo di vivere dei conigli: come se fossero un popolo straniero, con tanto di loro lingua, con serie organizzazioni sociali e militari, addirittura la loro religione. La costruzione dal loro punto di vista è davvero geniale, e i personaggi (dei benedetti conigli) mi sono rimasti dentro. A colpire è, soprattutto, il significato sul male dell’uomo e sui pericoli che vivono in quanto prede.

Such a unique book! I wasn't expecting the depth of it at all. The language and belief system he created was so rich and felt so real.
