A hobbit / lord of the rings-esque story, with rabbits as the main characters. What's not to like?

I read this with my daughter (7) over a few weeks and we both really enjoyed it! She wanted to restart it straight away in fact. The world of the rabbits is beautifully done - it comes complete with a language and a mythology all its own. Afterwards we watched the film but it was dreadful!
emotional hopeful reflective sad

although i felt it dragged a bit in the middle, it is so beautifully written and detailed. serves as an incredible metaphor for war and violence within humans

i didnt expect to love this book so much! it pulled me from my reading slump. i would definitely read this again and it was perfect to read in the springtime. each character was so well developed and written that it was hard to believe they were rabbits!

Charming. A big adventure. Intense at times. The beginning was good, the middle dragged a bit. But the strong ending saved it.
Bigwig - like Samwise Gamgee - is the true hero of the story.
adventurous hopeful sad

I absolutely underestimated how much I would enjoy almost 500 pages about rabbits. It is a true adventure story with lots of hope but lots of sadness. Some of it felt a bit drawn out but, on the whole, a very good read.

I see where warrior cats gets its inspo. Who knew rabbit politics would be so interesting
