such nice illustrations and a lot of wonderful, strong women's stories, many of which were new to me! I'll definitely buy my own copy when I have kids (I read a library copy this time 'round). My only criticism would be that there were a couple of spelling mistakes in my copy, I hope they changed those in later editions!
I read this over the course of the month at nap time and bedtime with my three year old. The illustrations are beautiful and I loved the variety of women included. While some of the stories were way beyond simplified, I get it. This is the gateway for little girls to learn more and more about these women as they get older and can better understand the complexity surrounding so many of the stories.
I really want to give this book five stars but I can't, for two reasons. 1) the title kind of defeats the purpose. It's for strong and courageous women, yes. But calling them rebels for being those things makes their actions seem out of the ordinary. 2) the idea that this book has to or should replace princess stories. Not going to happen in this house. My daughter loves princesses, especially Merida. Her current life plan is to be a princess dumpy truck driver architect. This book and princess books can peacefully co-exist.

Este es el tipo de libro que todo el mundo debería leer, porque siento que es muy necesario. Sin importar el género ni la edad, porque todos tienen que tener la posibilidad de descubrir la vida de estas mujeres.
No conocía muchas de las historias que nos cuentan, de esas niñas rebeldes que dejaron su marca en el mundo y al hacerlo quede totalmente cautivada. Muchas de las páginas nos muestran la otra parte del cuento, de la que no sabíamos nada-
Se lee fácil y rápido, con unas ilustraciones bellisimas al igual que las historias y léanlo que no se van a arrepentir.

Desde Michelle Obama, Julia Child, Yoko Ono, hasta Ann Makosinski, Grace Hopper o María Reiche. Por cada una de estas mujeres, y muchas más, hay una ilustración basadas en ellas y sus ideales, y una pequeña biografía donde cuentan más o menos a qué dedicaron, cómo y porqué han hecho historia.
Algunas las conocía, por películas, libros y/o series, otras poco, muchas... para ser sincera, ni de nombre. Eso es por lo que considero este libro tan rico en esencia. Por la oportunidad que nos da de conocer más mujeres que han dejado huella de una u otra forma, y a la gran variedad que eligieron para crear este libro.
En este momento, quiero con muchas ganas leer el siguiente.

What a wonderful and inspiring children's book. If I had a child I would want to teach them all about these wonderful featured rebels. I can't believe that it was a kickstarter.
Brilliantly done. The stories were fast and perfect for a younger audience. I found myself tearing up with pride a few times for women that lived hundreds of years ago.
