This is a really fun book and I enjoyed reading the brief biographies of several women to my daughter. The portraits of the various women featured in this book is solid artwork. The biographical stories, as I mentioned, are brief but certainly ignite a curiosity to read further on the important women. The women whose stories are told in this book are from across life's spectrum: queens, politicians, leaders, scientists, pirates, writers, civil rights activists, military personnel, poets, doctors, environmentalists, etc. To show my daughter the wide range of roles that women can excel at is truly meaningful and I hope she feels inspired by many of these examples.

The concept is intriguing and the artwork is beautiful but this ultimately missed the mark for me. Just an example but why feature an empress whose main achievement was invading another country and kicking off decades of colonialism? And the stories are written in the past tense, which I understand fits the fairy tale theme, but it removes a lot of the power from the accomplishments, especially if the women are still living.

En definitiva es un libro que vale completamente la pena! Aprendi demasiadas cosas y sin duda es de esos libros a los que volveré muy seguido! La edición es bellísima, la motivación que transmite es maravillosa, conocer a tantas mujeres que han dejado su granito de arena en este mundo hace que te motives a luchar por tus sueños, a querer superarte, a querer hacer algo por ti, por los demás y por el mundo. Me siento muy inspirada y contenta. Es un libro perfecto para leerle a las niñas y a los niños por la noche para que encuentren el coraje de perseguir sus sueños e inspirarse a luchar con el ejemplo de tantas mujeres. ALTAMENTE RECOMENDADO
