The story is interesting but really slow moving. I listened to the audiobook and I wish I read a physical copy so I could skip parts.
I was also confused by the setting, although this might be a side effect of listening to the audiobook: the whole vibe feels Victorian and older century but some of the terminology and references made are modern. It was a bit confusing.
The twists fall flat in places and some clues that were interesting at the start end up either being pointless or not adequately explained by the end. The villains are subpar, probably because they don’t have decent substance to their character arcs.

2.5⭐️. It was ok. Picked up around p.50, but I didn’t love the writing at times and some of the “twists” were odd. Overall it just wasn’t for me .

I think this was kind of stretched out a little longer than it needed to be.
