This was an interesting book to read because it felt as more of a work of art than a book (not that I don't consider books art, but I felt like I was looking at a series of paintings in a gallery rather than reading a book--even a picture book). The book contains little plot, and you can flip to any page and begin reading from there. The messages within this text are profound, and I can definitely say that I cried; moreover, while I almost expected more of a story, the lack thereof enhances the poignancy of the text. The brilliant, well-crafted minimalism allows for readers to almost craft their own narrative, enabling whoever reads the book to continue to revisit the text and reap more knowledge. This is a story and a work of art that transcends age and is comparable, although completely different, to The Little Prince. I would recommend purchasing this book to have this gem around your house, and I would definitely share this story with both the tiny and old humans in your life.

Heerlijk boek met prachtige illustraties. Iedere pagina is een tegeltje met een wijsheid.

En wat hebben we geleerd uit al die tegeltjes? Ik ben de mol, want ik denk ook altijd aan taartjes. Taartjes maken gewoon alles beter.
