"So much beauty we need to look after."
This little thing made me feel incredibly peaceful tonight. I didn't expect much from it –except for maybe being a nice short comic– since I thought I had lost that spark of sentimentality in me. Yet here I am, touched my these lovely four friends. It is a nice short comic, but it is also so much more. I don't know exactly what it does differently, but it reaches your heart.
The drawing is messy yet intimate, the story very simple, and the friendship pictured in it entirely heart-warming.
It is a tiny thing so full of love, and here's a five-star because it gives what it promises.

A dear friend of mine gifted me this book. I think it's rather strange that I hadn't read it before she did, but that made the experience all the more worthwhile.
Since the story is rather short, I read it in an hour after receiving it. I love how easy-going books like these are. I love how you can start from wherever in the book and still make sense of the book, just like the author promises at the beginning. I love how unbound and without rules it is.
What I liked most about it, is how the passages felt like the author is leaving himself notes. Like he wants to remind himself of something and through that, we're recieving reminders as well. I love books where I sense that personal connection beneath the words.
The good thing about it is that it is a children's book and therefore, absolutely everyone can read it and have moments of happiness and calm.
So yeah, I really enjoyed this book. It may not have been life-changing (at least for me), but it did what it was supposed to perfectly.
Go read it if you haven't yet. I promise you won't regret it.

This book arrived on my doorstep from a top friend with instructions to read to my cousin’s daughters. The painting’s are so beautiful the message much deeper than I’d expected to be reading to a 3yo & 3mo. I’d not heard of it before but now can’t believe I’d missed it.
