I gave this book to my kids last Christmas, but I’d put it on a shelf and forgotten about it. Something made me think about the book the other day, so we found it, and I read it to my youngest child. This is the book I needed to read right now. Tears of love and gratitude fell as I read and turned the pages. This is the book everyone should be reading and re-reading right now - whether you’re 80 or 8. The world is upside down, and it has become difficult for many of us to find joy in everyday life.

It’s one of my favorites, and one I know I will need from time to time. What a gift.

Not subtle in its message, but a poignant, powerful and warm hug of a book. A book to own, so you can pull it out and read various parts of it and reminisce about the origins of the stains and markings you’ve put on it whenever you need to do so. It reads like lessons learned and earned in a lifetime, presented with a genuine, loving and earnest gentleness.
