LOVED this book! It had everything that I really enjoy in a good teen read: adventure, historical aspects, a little romance, and a strong, funny female lead.

Honestly, I have heard nothing bad about this book, but I must admit I didn't care for it. To me, the whole first 100 pages was very repetitive, just Gwen and Lesley talking about telling her mom. To be blunt, it was boring. Gwen seemed like another of those helpless little characters who just waits for guidance. Lesley was okay. Also, I felt that Lady Arista and Aunt Glynda(is that her name?) were also super repetitive. All they did was drone on about Charlotte's greatness. Also, there was simply no action whatsoever. It just felt like it was going nowhere, and I have to say my favorite part was when I decided to stop reading it.
This book had some plot flaws but all in all it was a really good book. I was surprised as it has mixed reviews on Goodreads I also have not found a time travel book I like. This book follows a 16 year old girl named Gwen, she seems like the average 16 year old girl. She hangs out with friends makes fun of teachers and helps her family. Gwen's family is unique they are time travelers. Well not her exactly but they are grooming his cousin for this role as it has been foretold. Except nothing every goes according to plan... I really enjoyed Gwen's character she has real backbone. While her predicament may not be ideal she does what needs to be done. Her witty comebacks and thinking on her toes made me adore her. I like it when she tells off Gideon, you go girl!! Don't take his crap.
There are some serious laugh out loud moments in this book. I really enjoyed the banter between the family. Gwen's friend is the best she takes everything as is and is always there for her no matter what. Gideon's character is a little more complex as Gwen is taught to trust no one. Can we trust Gideon it's only book one so I'm not sure. .. This book was translated to English, I had no idea while reading it that it was translated. Whoever translated it did an awesome job....
Overall this book has a great premise and the plot flaws may have been due to translation but I didn't care. I just really enjoyed this book through and through. I actually cared for the characters and the flow was fast paced. There wasn't much down time between things happening. I definitely recommend this book!

I could not put this book down! I read it really fast and I want more! When I finished the book I was like "Nooooo!!!!! I need to know more about Gwen and Gideon! Also what happens with Paul and Lucy?"
This book has a lot of unexpected turns and a whole lot of character development that I enjoyed. There were characters that we more shallow than a puddle and I expected more. Yet vice versa, some characters I thought were going to be nothing but a puddle turned out to be far more interesting than that! I really enjoy the time travel and the concept of only 12 people carrying the time travel gene. I have to admit that I am a tad jealous of Gwen because she gets to play dress up in all sorts of pretty dresses! I would be in heaven if I had that luxury. Who wouldn't want a fantastically saucy french seamstress to custom make clothing for you whenever needed? A crazy person, that's who!
So If you enjoy crazy adventure, unexpected twists and turns and all sorts of other fun then I highly recommend that you read this book. It is simply magical.

I did not like this book. The time travelling rules are so confusing and so many plotholes. i dont even like the main character. She is very annoying. I dont think i will finish the series.
