I read this book because it was on my son's summer reading list. I really enjoyed it. I plan to read the next book in the series. I would recommend it middle school aged kids.

Loved it!

Plot or Character Driven: Plot

Teen Fiction.

Time travel.

I'm not a gib fan of knowing something the main character doesn't know - and thus knowing that she isn't making informed choices bugs me.

I'd give this book a 3.5 because it was fun and engaged me enough that I wanted to find out what happened. Gwyneth is written as an actual teenager which I feel is unusual for YA novels. That may deter some readers but I appreciated the attempt at realism. Usually my mind just turns the ridiculously mature teenage character into someone in their mid twenties but I mostly remembered that Gwyneth was just in high school. I love the premise of time travel because I enjoy historical fiction but I have yet to find a really satisfying version. Gier is going in the right direction. I didn't give it more stars because I felt that the plot and details were underdeveloped. It was too surface for me. Interesting ideas but needed more exploration.

This book was a lot of fun and left me wanting to read the second book right away. Too bad it's not out until October!

Doesn't that make Gwen and Gideon related?! Hope the author doesn't skirt around that issue. The 2 main characters, being romantically involved and related? Must continue this series to see how this plays out.
