I am German and read the book in german so I will also write my review in german.

Hit me like a ton of bricks. It's probably not for everyone, but it really resonated with me.

PS. I found the blurb to be misleading/non-representative of the vibe of the book, best ignore it.

* Spoiler*
While I enoyed the beginning of the book I felt it became redundant and unsatisfying. NOt my cup of tea.

Beautifully tender story charting two people's frustrating and intense relationship. Particularly loved Rooney's exploration of modern class struggle and the cultural/emotional role of literature.

Pretty much exactly like the TV show which is one of my favourite pieces of media ever, just with more introspection. The only reason it's not rated higher is because I think the timeline can be a bit confusing and jarring.
