I loved this one so much! The way Max Monroe writes so beautifully is powerful and fun. I feel like this is the next college campus series obsession!!!
This book reminds me a lot of beautiful disaster where bad boy meets good girl with some underground society! I couldn’t get enough of these two Characters. Fin and Scottie had this deep attraction at first sight but it almost had a forbidden love feel in the beginning. With Fin and his family secrets and Scottie and her secret texts, so many fun side stories to explore in this one.
Let’s not forget to mention all the amazing side characters from Ace and his dad with their hilarious prank wars to all the other great friends of Scottie and Finn, this book had it all. I loved Things I Should’ve Said but this, this definitely is my new favorite.

Wow. This book was bananapants! Twice as long as a regular Max Monroe book, but I couldn’t put it down. There was so. much. drama. Just when I thought one plot point was wrapped up, something else bonkers happened. But this was the kind of ridiculous read I needed right now. I don’t normally like college/new adult because it’s been over 20 years since I was in college and sometimes it’s just cringe to read about that time in a person’s life. But I loved this. There’s a lot of heavy themes here: alcoholic parents, parental abandonment, vindictive ex-boyfriends, etc., but also “touch her and die.” I don’t want to give the plot away but just go in knowing that although there’s a lot of humor here (hello, Ace Kelly), there’s also a lot of emotional content. You will feel all the feels! But there’s a HEA, so no worries there 😁.

Learning Curve by Max Monroe is a captivating college romance that expertly balances lighthearted moments with deeper, more reflective themes. The story follows Finn and Scottie, two complex characters whose chemistry is palpable from their first encounter. Monroe's skillful character development shines as we watch these two navigate their personal struggles and budding relationship.
The author masterfully weaves together elements of humor, angst, and passion, creating a narrative that's both entertaining and emotionally resonant. The sexy scenes are well-crafted and contribute meaningfully to the plot, while the more serious moments add depth to the characters and their journey.
One of the novel's strengths is its supporting cast, particularly Ace, whose humor provides welcome relief from the intensity of Finn and Scottie's story. The friendships depicted feel authentic and add richness to the college setting.
While the plot takes some unexpected turns, especially towards the end, Monroe manages to keep the reader invested throughout. The unconventional path to the characters' happily-ever-after might challenge some readers' expectations, but it ultimately feels true to Finn and Scottie's unique journey.
My only minor critique would be that the back-and-forth between the main characters occasionally feels drawn out. However, this is a small quibble in an otherwise engrossing read.
Overall, Learning Curve is an addictive, emotionally charged romance that skillfully balances light and dark elements. It's a promising start to the Dickson University series, leaving readers eager for more.

One of my top reads for 2024!
This book wrecked me in the best possible way, and even weeks later, I still can't stop thinking about it. The romance, angst, drama, humor, and plot twists--some of which I guarantee you won't see coming--kept me up until after 2 a.m. for two nights in a row!
Learning Curve is a college romance with characters who both come from tough backgrounds and are just trying to navigate their way through college. The side characters are hysterical and highly entertaining, adding a delightful layer to a story that hits on a deeper level. Even now, I'm still reeling from this book and wish I could experience reading it again for the first time.
While this can be enjoyed on its own, if you're familiar with any previous series written by Max Monroe, then you'll appreciate several character appearances from other books. This story has firmly lodged itself in my heart, and I can't recommend it enough.
