One of the sweetest reads of the year. I'm not big on friends to lovers, but I adored every second of this.

I thought this was such a cute little novella! There was a little bit of drama, and some medium steaks but overall it was just nice. I thought the characters were charming, and I could relate to them. I felt completely transported for the time that I read it and I was very happy.

I wish I could read this again for the first time. Truly cannot recommend more. This book seriously brought me so much joy. It seriously was just such a beautiful book, and I wouldn't expect anything less from Hannah Bonam-Young. After reading Out on a Limb I can't believe I hadn't heard of this book yet. The representation was killing it- anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and LGBTQ+. I think as someone in those spaces I loved the way she represented being queer and neurodivergent. I related hard to the ADHD/Anxiety. It was also refreshing to have a book explain the little things like overthinking and stimming in such a real setting that felt natural. These characters felt so unapologetically themselves but also delt with the trauma/insecurities that felt very raw. Plus, I love a fake dating friends to lovers' troupe defiantly ate that up immediately. Watching the way these characters cared for one another was so sweet and how patient they were with each other to understand and not judge was beautiful.

This was a fantastic quick read. The romance was so sweet and pure. I loved it! Arguably you could say the beginning was little fast however, for a novella, I can let it slide. I loved the friends to lovers aspect. I thought the coming out aspect was done well and loved how Clara’s family warmly accepted Evan over the holidays. Also... I loved the spicy scenes. And the ending with
Spoilerthe double proposal wrapped this up so perfectly.
I am so excited to read more books by this author, and hopefully we’ll see more sapphic (hopefully full length) novels in the future.
