It was wonderful being back in Nevermoor. I love how the world was expanded, gaining answers to questions and seeing Morrigan become more formidable. I do wish there were more training sessions and more information about her predecessors. Overall, I enjoyed the book, and I need the next book in the series soon.

Finally finished the LONG awaited 4th addition to the Nevermoor series!
This book follows Morrigan Crow
Spoiler as she becomes an aristocrat, lessons with ezra squall (notorious wundersmith) and murder investigation - led by Morrigan Crow and Detective Blackburn!

Although I would loved to have see more Jupiter North
Spoiler (he was absent for the majority of the book due to a book-long argument amongst other factors)
Jack and Unit 919 in general… it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. We get to visit a brand new section of Nevermoor (though I did miss some of the characteristics I LOVED reading about in the previous books, such as Morrigan's lessons, class field trips to whimsical parts of Nevermoor and perhaps most of all, Hotel Deucalion and it's fabulous cast).
This book is quite lengthy compared to the other books in the series, but I could never complain about extra content. I did also feel as though the stakes were slightly lower compared to the other books. For example, the Hollowpox, which had very evident high stakes - the epidemic itself. It did also lean into a “mystery/detective” aspect which is admittedly not my favourite genre.
Spoiler While the “aristocrat” drama wasn't too exciting, it was pleasant to see Noelle RETURN!! (I’ve been manifesting this since the 1st book)

BUT Jack AND Ezra Squall AND Hawthorne AND Jupiter AND Candace AND Morrigan (of course), however minimal, never disappoint… hopefully there’s a shorter wait until the 5th book!!
Spoiler where Jupiter MEETS Ezra Squall!!!!!
