Initial Thoughts: Awesome, as usual. I sped through this. I'm simply a little convinced what the overarching plot is, where it's all going. Beyond Morrigan acquiring new skills, is the series about learning the truth about Squall or some truth about the other realms or getting more Wundersmiths or . . . what?

In this book we get to see a completely different side of Nevermoor and learn more about Morrigan’s family. Heartwarming, funny, mysterious, along with a unique magic system. It was so nice to be able to return to Nevermoor!

A delightful continuation of Morrigan’s tale.
The role of coincidence and the revelation of secrets was completely over the top. At first I just found it eye-rollingly annoying, but by the conclusion had developed a certain grudging respect for the author’s all-out dedication to melodrama.
This volume doesn’t advance the story much, but did reveal some interesting backstories and character motivations, though as usual I found the other members of Unit 919 grievously underutilized.

the way i have absolutely no notes. no notes. jessica townsend did it AGAIN. this book arrived the day before i moved into my new apartment, and on top of exams i didn't have a lot of time to read. and then 3 days after my last exam, i took 5 days to london and left the book at home... i came home a week ago, and read the last 75% percent in the span of 7 days. which is like.... 500 pages...
i don't even know how to write any kind of coherent review that makes sense, because my thoughts are everywhere all over place, but trust me, it's only good things.
this book kept me on the egde of my seat from first page to (almost) last, and i love how jessica made both morrigan's newfound family and the murder that the book is centered around fit together, tied to each other and yet it still felt like two different plotlines.
and obviously, it's nevermoor - i was jaw-dropped, crying and laughing sometimes at the same time, other times seperately. there's so much more to say, but if i had to compliment everything, this review would become an entire novel by itself.

Mog's relationship with every adult in this book made me so sad, she deserves to be loved. Also Cadence is so sweet and she and Mog deserve each other.
