A wunderful addition to the series! Silverborn dives into some more complex themes as Morrigan and Unit 919 take on a murder mystery in the Silver District, home to Nevermoor's wealthiest citizens. As Morrigan's world continues to expand, there's a lot of good groundwork laid here in terms of the politics and history of Nevermoor. I really enjoyed Morrigan's interactions with Squall, and I look forward to seeing how their dynamic progresses. Family was at the heart of this novel, though, with Morrigan and Jupiter navigating her newfound relatives. I can't recommend the Nevermoor series enough.

This book had a bit of a different feel to me--for one, it follows a mystery plot line rather than a trial or quest type plot line. There were parts of that I liked, and parts that felt like we were detouring from the overarching plot of the series. Plus, while Townsend so perfectly encapsulates the emotional highs and lows of being a emerging teenager--the shift away from some of the characters that I absolutely love towards some ones who are less lovable was a little hard to deal with--so I'm hoping for more from the favorite characters from the Ducalian and even more Unit 919 in the next book! Still love the series and the narration is absolutely amazing. Definitely my favorite middle grade fantasy series of all time right now!

despite the 3rd book in the series coming out 5 years ago, I felt like I didn’t have to reread anything to catch up on the events of this book, I also thought that I would have found the language quite juvenile as I did start the series when I was 13 but I found myself quite happy with the writing style

Wasn't expecting Gossip Girl from the Nevermoor series, but honestly? Not that mad about it. It had a very different feeling to the other 3 books, and I missed some of the main aspect I look forwards to (i.e., the Christmas Eve duel, time in WunSoc, Jack, the Deucalion) which I liked less, but the INCREDIBLE character and plot development was worth it.

Spectacular! The writing is superb, characters so relatable, plot excellent, all in all, a great addition to the series. Jessica, you did not disappoint. The few moments that dragged were when Morrigan was in the Silver District. Most of it was fine and entertaining enough, but those chapters when she was sulking at the Darling’s house after her blowout with Jupiter were a little boring and could have been a bit shorter. Still, I enjoyed the rest of the book so much that I kept it at 5. I don’t really read much fantasy anymore, but the Nevermore series is special. Read it.
