A saucy and delightful read. It is exactly what you might imagine from this genre and set-up, but executed well and quite successful at eliciting a variety of emotions throughout. No one told me how steamy it got!

Billed as enemies to lovers but it really was friends to lovers.

reading this for the second time reminded me why i loved it so much when i read it for the first time

This book is amazing. **TW: Review contains personal comments about grief and death of family members. Take care of yourself <3**

I picked this book up because I wanted a light and quick romance. Little did I realize, this book wasn't just a typical grumpy sunshine. I started reading books in the 2nd grade after I was introduced to the HP series. Before that, I never read a thing. Now, not to talk too much about that book series (we all know that "she who must not be named" does need any more publicity, but that book came into my life at a time when I was lost and needed direction, hope, and adventure. This book just so happened to come into my life at an important moment too.

Earlier this year I lost two people within month of each other. I wont go into specifics for personal reasons but our relationships were complicated. January is also dealing with processing the complicated emotions surrounding the loss of her father. The books goes through various moments of grief and heartache and it was honestly so comforting for me to read about a character who was dealing with that on top of pressures at work and in the mist of a potential romance. Even though the book's focus isn't about loss I greatly appreciated that challenging plot point in the back drop of this story. It really goes to show how love can appear at the most unlikely of moments and how hard times can truly test our abilities to grow, heal, and find forgiveness in times of hardship.

It's safe to say that I'll be picking up Emily Henry's other books, but this one was special for me. In a way that a good reads review can't fully explain. I hope this book finds its way to someone else, if they need it. <3

Just reread this for the first time since March last year and it hit so differently this time around. For whatever reason, I totally forgot about all of the stuff with her dad. It hit a little too close to home, but gave me a good cry late last night. As always, Emily Henry can do no wrong. For me, it was significantly better the second time around.
