The second book of Cloverleigh Farms is about Chloe and Oliver, childhood friends and their mothers are best friends. The thing here is that they love-hate each other. I liked the dynamic between them and the way they end up together even though they don’t want to accept that they are attracted to each other. I didn’t liked the fact that their story got rushed, especially in the end. I understand that Chloe has a way of doing things without thinking when it comes to Oliver, but it was too rushed.
Overall it was a good lecture, I enjoyed the way they were daring each other. I would’ve liked to see more interaction with other characters. I loved Grams, she was the one character with her head straight.⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ stars and I’m not going to explain it.

I wanted to like this book so badly, because I love romances that involve a shot at being childhood sweethearts. I love a good friends to lovers story, and this being a second-chance romance was something I looked forward to.
My issues with this book were that it’s slow, and it dragged out. Especially when it took Oliver to tell Chloe the truth, all those times I was mentally saying to myself “Dude spit it out”. I love any books that involve fake dating and marriage of convenience, and it really disappointed me on how the story flow was written.
Also, I didn’t see Oliver as bad as he was painted to be but I did hate that he never could apologize to Chloe for all the things he did to her even in the past. I wish he was written to own up to his mistakes than just him saying it was out of immaturitt and irresponsibility. However, I related more to him than I did with Chloe; I found her “Now” chapters to be bland.
Lastly, Chloe was supposed to be strong but impulsive, but I never really saw her as strong. She easily forgave Oliver, and was gullible for most of the time, if it was to paint a romantic notion where “I’m always strong but when it comes to Oliver...” it didn’t come across that way. She felt like a push-over and I wish she was written differently — Frannie was stronger than her back in Irresistible.
I will continue on with the other books, I’m really hoping the others don’t disappoint. I’m sad that I didn’t enjoy this book.

for me
This book was pretty good at first but the middle was sooo hard to get through. I wasn’t rooting for the characters anymore. The MC was kind of too annoying for my attention space. Oliver was so hard to root for. He broke the MC trust so many times I didn’t wish them together anymore. Truthfully I think I would skip this one in the series. 3/5

Terrific story - Great Ending
Awww - I love a good second chance story, but Chloe and Oliver also have a bit of friends to lovers and also enemies to lovers in their story. They’ve got it all and they had quite a history to own up to and also move beyond. I love the descriptions of the locations and events - I definitely feel like I’m right there with them experiencing it all. I can hardly wait for my next visit to Cloverleigh Farms.

Another light, cute small town romance by Melanie Harlow. This is the 2nd book in the cloverleigh farm series. It’s about Oliver and chloe. It is childhood frenemies to lovers trope, small town romance. It was fun to follow the relationship of chloe and Oliver. They were full of memories about their past, what they have been through in their childhood, the love and hate relationship. Even though they say they hate each other, the love was always there. After Oliver left chloe and came back which where their love unfolds again.

This could've been so good, but it was just meh, and honestly, I didn't particularly like either of the MCs. I'm not sure why Oliver couldn't just tell Chloe the deal from the beginning, and she had zero backbone. Also, what was the deal with her using him for her first time, and just laying there like a cold fish, and being rude to him after; yet he wanted her after that?!
I just feel like I was expecting something different based on the blurb. I thought he was coming back cuz he wanted her, but he admits that wasn't actually his plan, at least originally. But either way, I felt like Chloe gave in too easily. There needed to be more of Oliver trying to win her over, and I also hated the flashbacks and then back to the present. I would've much preferred to have their full backstory and then move in the present.
