I was pleasantly surprised by this and understand the hype now. For whatever reason I thought this was a children's story and lol, I was cured of that notion 5 pages in. The pace is slooow and despite enjoying it it took me a long time to finish.

I found this interesting, but it was a little too much for me. It just felt exhausting to read after awhile. It also seemed like a lot of the sexual content was only included for shock value.
2.5⭐️ I was looking forward reading this before seeing the movie, to compare, but now that I read it, I don’t think the movie would even use this plot… it was just dull and too lengthy… very difficult to follow and a lot of times to understand what’s happening… for a fantasy novel it was just not a good read for me… for the most part, I forced myself reading this through… I just hope the movie now will make up for it…
