It’s a brilliant book, the musical is fantastic as well…. Being a musician myself, I tend to favor the musical more than the book.
The musical takes a slightly more optimistic approach and is far less explicit than the book! Even if you can’t see it live, I highly recommend listening to the soundtrack—it’s pure genius. I’ve read this book For Good :)

For the entirety of this book, I expected to give it 4 stars when all was said and done. SIGH but the ending!!!!!! I went into reading Wicked knowing that it would not be a carbon copy of the musical (that was based on THIS book), but I still enjoyed the story as a whole. I loved reading lines that were pretty iconic from the show and learning about characters that were not included on Broadway. Overall it was a good read. Where my 4-star rating turned into a 3-star was the conclusion of the book. I just felt like there were SO many loose ends that could've and should've been dealt with by the end of the book and I honestly felt myself losing focus and rushing to be done with it once I realized those plot holes weren't gonna be addressed. While the rest of the books in the series may answer some of the questions I have, I would have to really think about buying/reading the next 2 books.
