This book was amazing. It was a well written easy read with such interesting information. Kate made me laugh numerous times with her witty writing, and I learned a bunch of new things! We need to continue to talk about sex!!

Not sure I’ve come away learning much but it was an interesting read. Mostly fun and lighthearted but with a serious message about the importance of breaking the taboo surrounding sex, menstruation, prostitution etc.

Really interesting. Kate covers a range of topics from things that are so silly and humorous to things that are truly horrific. The book also has a casual quirky conversational narrative tone that works well for an audiobook.

Kate Lister’s ‘A Curious History of Sex’ explores the euphemisms, language, cultural attitudes and underrepresented topics surrounding human sexuality. From birth control to sex work, Lister touches on so many important yet under studied elements to human sexuality.
This was such a great book. I think it’s important to note that writing a book about the history of human sexuality is basically impossible (as Lister mentions!). The topics covered in this book are interesting as well as timely. Expertly written, made me giggle a few times, and I learned a lot too!
