I enjoyed listening to the audiobook. The performer was outstanding at making the
engaging despite the story moving I liked the characters, relationships and the story. I liked
learning about life as a woman at Oxford University during the 1920 period.

HIGHLY recommend

I loved this book! It was well-written with strong character development and a fascinating plot. There was nothing NOT to like about this historical fiction novel.

My biggest suggestion is to locate the glossary if you are not familiar with British terminology or Oxford-speak. It would have made reading the book a bit easier. But, reading it afterwards answered my questions!

One would think I’d eat this shit up. Women? Going to college? Finding their independence? A lil historical fiction action? But alas, the characters and plot have to be interesting for me to care and this was not that. We fiiiiinallllyyyy started to get some personality towards the end but I stg the first 200 pages were rough. I’m rounding up from 2.5 bc I didn’t HATE it. But let me say these last two things: I thought there’d be rowing and I feel very misled by the cover AND I would have given that Charles Baker a second chance cause I love a sob story.
