I was so incredibly bored. This was compared to "Boys in the Boat" and I'm nearly half way and it feels like the girls spend so much superficial time together and is just alluding to their secrets they keep from each other... I'm dragging my feet with this read and it's overdue at the library so yeah I'm not finishing it.

This took me a lot of time to work through and I debated DNF'ing multiple times but held on despite admittedly scanning the pages at times. While the novel is character driven, I found myself only invested in one and often confused by who was speaking and further confused by the flashbacks. I usually enjoy a historical fiction and while I can appreciate the depth of knowledge from the author, her writing did not land with me. I'm not mad for sticking it out but would not necessarily recommend.
