Loved how poetic the writing was and the wry humor. There were parts where I got a little lost but overall really enjoyed the reading experience and will be reading more from Winterson.

This one was the perfect book for me. I loved tho structure of stories and time. The story was clear even through its absurdity and other storylines. Read it in three days; I just couldn’t put the book down.

I love Winterson’s writing style! She really really gets it. Evokes such huge emotions with incredible efficiency. A master.

Started off pretty strong but I lost interest as it went more into the fantasy style world, an interesting interpretation of extreme christianity, although there was a lot of things unanswered

Biased by how much I really enjoyed the final section.
Overall, quite enjoyed it, much funnier than I expected. And as someone raised devoid of faith and religion, I was pretty fascinated by the descriptions of struggling with faith and God.
The allegorical fairy tales didn’t do much for me, probably cos I was trying to finish this book quickly in time for book club.

Slightly confused by some of the metaphors, think it’s definitely a book for a reread
