This wasn’t a bad book just didn’t enjoy reading it very much. Message was important but could’ve been executed better

this was a good tale although i lost track of jeanettes age a bit and i lost track of what was happening at points too. ‘the passion’ is still my fav!
this book knows me better than i know myself and reading it gave me so much introspective. i'd say it changed me but honestly it reminded me who i was and who i am today and that it's not necessarily bad to think both versions together, and also not bad to keep them apart.
also it is a beautiful coming of age story, it's gay, the language is amazing, it's full of analogies and symbolism and imagery and i'm so gonna reread this, it's so worth discussing in class, it's so worth talking about, it's so worth reading it.

I like the difference she gives between prophet and pastor. Very melodic and abstract and strange. Nice writing, I'm excited to read her new novel.
