I really struggled to finish this book. The plot and the writing are fine. It is just me and stories about religion and it’s impact.

It’s literally fine. I switch off immediately if there’s any magical/mystical elements so when they appeared near the end I was out. But some occasional memorable lines. The tone/voice shifts so suddenly at the end, I was a bit baffled.
