Hot and steamy Freedom Fighters cartel storyline, Luke and Vera. Man, I was hooked. You have to read the other books in order before this one and there’s two more left. For this whole series, I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for the next one.

Story: 4 stars. Another action-packed story in the Deliver series.

Narration: 2 stars. Male narrator J Tipstone was okay. This is my first time listening to him and he sounds okay. Female narrator Lacy Laurel is another story tho. She was awful. I wanted to skip the chapters she narrated cause I couldn’t stand the way she articulate the words, it’s like she’s eating the words instead of saying it! It was terrible AF! Then the accent she tried doesnt even sound nowhere a Mexican accent or someone Mexican speaking English. She’s gonna be another narrator in my avoid list and I really hate adding narrators to that list.

This story sucked me in, and it would not let go. It’s about abuse and heart ache. Finding love when you least expect it. Luke and Tomas go undercover as a buyer of slaves. The cartel is selling trafficked women. For Luke his first glimpse of Vera hit him like a shot in the chest. All he knew was he needed her. I loved her fire, and her nonstop fight for her freedom.

This series while fiction is about a subject that is going on in the real world. Tragically women, men, and children are taken from all they know to suffer badly. I think we all need to think of them, and pray that it ends. That they feel some comfort tonight. It could be your child.

Luke and Tomas have gone undercover to infiltrate the cartel in hope of finding their friend Tula's long lost sister, Vera Gomez. But when they meet her as they arrive to the compound, something is off. The woman fits the description Tula has given them, she has the identifying tattoo but she isn't the slave Luke thought her to be.

Then he meets the woman that's called Gina.

She's been kept as a slave by Vera's step-brothers and they use her in any way possible. But Gina is a fighter - she likes to challenge whatever is thrown at her. That's one reason why these brothers have kept her around. It's also the reason why Luke has found himself asking for a week with her. She is strong-willed and fights Luke at every turn. She's had enough torment in the past few years to handle more with Luke.

During this week together, they both find themselves doing and feeling things they thought they would never again. Luke finds himself having to remember his own slave training to deal with the situation. This is assignment is not easy. Not even in Tomas' side.
