I was absolutely delighted at the way it ended, with so much to look forward to (if that makes sense). This one was definitely action-packed and fast-paced, and I loved the introduction of the new characters, especially Laura and Wilson. I didn't think much of Perkins at all in the first two books but he really grew on me in this one.

I really enjoyed the time spent in this world, what with all their funky and odd names. I'm looking forward to the next book!

Wilson's background story actually made me tear up—the way he told it in first-person because of his own sense of guilt and what he did at the end with Perkins. The revelation of Perkins as a Burner was also somehow heart-breaking, since he was always so earnest and eager to help out.

Clever YA fantasy fiction at its finest.

I love his clever sense of humor.

Trying to explain the plot in this book to the uninitiated shows just what a master of the ridiculous Jasper Fforde is, this whole world makes perfect sense, the characters are likeable and the plot is compelling. My only regret is that I must now wait until another of his books is released before I can re enter my most favourite passage to escapism. Fforde takes you on a wild ride in cosy good reading comfort. This is first class fiction, even if it is nonsense.
