I was completely hooked to this one! I found the relationship between August and Emery really engrossing, and I was desperate to unravel the mysteries of Saoirse. I did predict two of the major twists (if not the "why" behind them) but I still found the story to be compelling. Man do these townsfolk suck though, what a bunch of assholes.

I’m not sure how I feel. In some ways this was so beautifully written! In other ways I felt like I was very aware that I was reading a story and was kind of consciously suspending disbelief to get through certain sections towards the resolution. I’m satisfied with how it ended though.

okay! wow!

i really liked this book. the dark witchy vibes definitely call for a warm cup of tea (or hot chocolate because i don’t actually like tea) and a rainy day.

it’s an atmospheric read that i got lost in many times and it’s Young’s first adult novel (i think). i’ve read her fable duology and knew i needed more of her works.

Spells for Forgetting did not disappoint! the mysteries and secrets uncovered felt magical, but honestly, they’re fairly predictable. however, it didn’t bother me that much because of how immersed i was in the story.

the second half of this book really picked up for me (as they usually do), and i read it in one evening.

read this book if you like:
- multiple pov’s
- witchy vibes & tea
- magical elements
- murder mysteries
- second chance (side) romance

I loved the story and the mystery of it all, but the thing that made me the most frustrated was all the talk of secrets. It felt like everyone had a secret and it got to the point where I didn't even care anymore
