I was completely hooked from the beginning of this book. Normally, I’m not a fan of multiple POVs, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. It was amazing to be inside so many characters’ heads and learn about them in a deeper way. The foreshadowing in this book was well done and getting to live in both the past and the present was such a fun storytelling tool. Adrienne Young never fails me.

I was completely hooked to this one! I found the relationship between August and Emery really engrossing, and I was desperate to unravel the mysteries of Saoirse. I did predict two of the major twists (if not the "why" behind them) but I still found the story to be compelling. Man do these townsfolk suck though, what a bunch of assholes.

Breathtaking, bewitching, and utterly magical. This is the first time in a long time that I’ve been so caught up in a book that I haven’t noticed the time (or the fact that I have to cancel my gym session because it’s way too late in the night). Truly kept me at the edge of my seat and even now, my heart is beating wildly as I type my review.

This book was gorgeous from start to end. The reviews are right - the setting was crazy atmospheric, with incredibly complex characters. And the ending - omg the ending!! I was a little underwhelmed at the jump from chapter 59 to 60 but right when I felt an inkling of disappointment, Young drew me back in with her hauntingly beautiful magic. I love stories where there are so many layers of secrets, drama, and it all boils down to the ugliest human traits (which are also the most raw). Perhaps my favourite character was Saoirse itself and the looming presence it had throughout the entire book.
