the illustrations were unreal!!!! plot was underdeveloped imo

So... I loved this graphic novel! It has everything I look in a good book: adventure, magic, mystery and friendship!
Until the last pages the mystery has to be solved and, even though some plot twist were predictable, I was always pretty entertained.
Without any doubt, it's a book I'll suggest to other people.

Loved the color palette, character drawings. Some of the writing was very little and in italics so it made it hard to read at times.

Book 180: Sorceline by Sylvia Douyé

Not sure where I found this book, seems like on a list somewhere. Another graphic novel for this month.

Synopsis: Welcome to the Island of Vorn, where mythical creatures roam free and only the brightest students are invited to study them. In Book 1 of this riveting new middle grade graphic novel series, a gifted young cryptozoologist-in-training must learn to tame powerful beasts—including her own inner demons.

Review: This was not for me. 2.5⭐️

Pacing was very off. Characters are very basic and one dimensional

Sorceline is enrolled in the cryptozoology program on the Island of Vorn. She has a talent for fantastical beings. All children want to be chosen as an apprentice by Professor Archibald Balzar, who will select one from among the top students.

This was a wonderful middle-grade fantasy graphic novel. It resembles a cross between Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, in my opinion. As somemone who enjoyed  HarryPotter reading this was an enjoyable experience So, if you enjoy those two series, you might a this. Beautiful, young-appealing illustrations with lovely colors are depicted in these works.

Vol. 1 of this graphic book (of 4). Before I started reading it, I was unaware of that. The graphic novel features a sudden finish and an open conclusion. I'm eagerly anticipating volume 2.

Cute, the art was amazing, but I think the written story would have worked better as a regular novel instead of a graphic one. The twist did get me though! I will have to see how the story ends.

A group of kids work under an older man to heal mythical creatures who seem like people but are just treated as animals, but someone's making the kids disappear. The art style is absolutely a treat to look at, but I was lukewarm on the story. The characters are underdeveloped, and their relationships are even less developed and the story tries so hard to make you care about those connections without putting in the building work.
