I was gonna give this book a solid 4 stars until the very end. When the main character blames herself for all the things that have gone wrong in the recent events of the book and that didn't make sense. She had left the car in order to find herself after decades of horror and slavery and Then blamed herself for the decisions Other people had made and that her absence apparently created which I did not agree with.

I also wasn't always sure how much time had passed. These characters are apparently long-lived and have lived for decades and done their work for decades.Whi like because I like reading about characters. That aren't twenty two but it sometimes wasn't clear when in the timeline we were.

Oh my, such a devastatingly beautiful read. Sorcery Romeo and Juliet in some way of it.

I thought the premise was a great idea, but I kept waiting for something to happen. This book is incredibly slow paced and there were elements at certain times that were just weird. I honestly wish all sex was removed from this story because I feel like it takes away from what the focus should be, it felt out of place, and the way it was written didn’t fit with the writing style or story.

I really wish the main focus was on the continued banter and mystery between Oneira and Em, but it wasn't. Tristan was really annoying and a pretty pointless character since he contributed nothing. Plus, we didn't actually get to live Oneira’s trauma with her so I feel like that aspect was glossed over and there wasn't a true build up.

Overall, it was ok, but it could have been fleshed out better as it didn’t reach the potential of what I thought this story was going to be.
