I love Rainbow Rowell and I always enjoy her books, without fail. She is, for me, a very imaginative and vivid writer and she didn’t let me down on that front with Landline. But I couldn’t get onboard with the characters or the story with this one.
Maybe it’s because I’m not married but I couldn’t understand why the two main characters wanted to be together, I certainly didn’t want them to be together, even when we were learning about their back story.
My heart went out to the poor best friend of the main female character who seemed to get all the blame for her marriage problems. She treated his horribly and never granted him and kindness when she was letting him down. Maddening.
If you piece Rainbow Rowell and you love whimsical plots and twists then give this a read, maybe you’ll like it more than I did.

I liked this book but I didn't love it. It took me a little longer to finish reading this book than I expected. The reason for that was because I kept having to take breaks so I wouldn't get too bored. The ending was very nice though.

I cannot give this book enough stars! I don't even want to say why - just read it!

I really didn’t like most of the characters.
Neal was this awful guy who never showed any real emotions except sadness and jealousy. His only good quality is basically being good with children but that’s not enough to continue on this dysfunctional relationship imo. His inability to communicate with his s/o was further proof that they weren’t meant to be. I also didn’t like how he tried to cut her out of her own life. He basically hated everything that made her who she was (her friends, work etc).

Georgie was way too desperate for her relationship to work out that she couldn’t take a step back and realize that what they used to share had been gone for a long time. I was hoping for her to realize what she had with Seth was way better and they could actually be happy together but that moment never came.

My favorite character was heather easily. She was always a delight reading about after way too much time in Georgie’s thoughts.

However I did think the story had a interesting plot. If you could talk to someone in the past, what would you say? How would what you said affect the world?

I wouldn’t call this a romance at all since I didn’t feel any connection between the two.

I'm so happy I didn't wait to read this book. I couldn't stop reading even while working. I loved the characters so much: they were real and authentic. I loved that there wasn't a magical solution in the end. It was just realistic and beautiful. I wouldn't want to change anything in the story. Just perfect :)

This was a very nice book, but I can’t say I enjoyed it enough for 5 stars. Me, not the book.
