Pretty cool art, but ultimately hard to follow and felt like it didn’t add much of its own to the story. Mostly made me want to read Lovecraft’s original and the Poe story it was built off of.
Conclusion of the story - after witnessing the horror of the zoological research party camp, leader of the Miskatonic University expedition and his assistant go to search for only missing member of the decimated camp. This will bring them into the very mysterious city behind the Antarctica's black massif from where they will come back drastically changed.
Everything I said for the volume #1 is true for this one too - gorgeous art and excellent graphical adaptation of Lovecraft's famous novel.
Recommended to all fans of Lovecraft stories and beautiful visual art.

The first book begins with a small introduction that tells the history of this story and includes the (dead?) dream of Guillermo del Toro making a film adaptation. Having read (an earlier draft of) that script I can tell you I would not have been pleased with it. Now if del Toro — or anyone else — wanted to work on an adaptation taking this book as the root: I’d be overjoyed. (Should be noted I have also taken a stab at adapting this story into a screenplay. No one will ever cry over its not being made.)

Selbe Empfehlung.
