Schnitzler dies a good job with the stream of consciousness and giving the reader the feeling that you are inside truly inside the protagonists mind. My problem with it is just that Else herself really isn‘t very likable so I didn‘t find myself feeling that sorry for her or rooting for her at the end. It is well written and worth the read nonetheless but just not necessarily for me.
