Beware of the SPOILERS in this review!

Okay so this was a bit of a downgrade from the previous volume. I don’t know what it is with the fights in this manga but they’re just so uninteresting to me. Maybe it’s because I’m used to the fights in One Piece which are always so entertaining but here they just seem so lackluster and I think this volume suffers especially because of it since it mostly just covers the fight between Anteiku and the investigators.

One thing I did like here was Juzo’s backstory. It was very disturbing and I think it brilliantly shows what torture can do to a mind of a child. And then when they blamed the animal killing on him even though it was just some random disturbed adult that they wanted to protect… I don’t know, I kinda feel sorry for this disturbed child.

Again, this volume has a lot of investigator shit so that’s bad. Although I am interested in how the relationship between Amon and Akira is going to look like by the end of the next volume. They are the only interesting part of this subplot. Oh, also my prediction is that Arima is Mr. Yoshimura’s son. I mean, it’s pretty obvious… at least I think it is. Especially with some of the comments from other characters lately.

One thing I also don’t like is that we’re ditching the entire cast of characters when it comes to the fight and instead we have those two random waiters from Anteiku fighting with Mr Yoshimura. They’re cool but we don’t really know much about them. How are we supposed to care for them? I don’t care if they die. It’s not like they have been an important part of the story so far.

Anyway, this was a bit disappointing, being the second to last volume of the manga. I surely hope that at least there will be something interesting going on in the last one because this just feels like it’s going nowhere. I’m giving this one 3 stars.

AHHHHHHHHHH! Only one more volume left and I don’t have the words atm...

This volume was incredibly action packed and you know how I feel about these action scenes :/ (they are a bit messy and I’m not always sure what’s exactly happening) plus there were tonnes of investigators *clutches head*

However, I had serious goosebumps reading this volume - the stakes are at their highest and we have the biggest battle between the CCG and Antieku and Aogiri Tree! There will be deaths and I am terrified some of my favourites will be fatalities *cries*

Yoshimura is such a great character but I’m scared about his ending and I’m loving the ghoul Kaneki!! I’m definitely rooting for Team Ghoul :D but Suzuya has a special place in my heart especially after learning about his traumatic childhood :(

I don't have too much to say here as this is the beginning of the end but man, absolute peak volume.

Wonderful volume yet again. Though in this volume I did realize that I can't keep anyone's names and c details straight. There are so many new people being introduced or re-introduced with first and last names, ranks and quinques. I can't keep this info straight, esp with lots of people dying as well. The sheer volume of people makes it harder to stay in the story, and read it for leisure.
