Probably the most disgusting book I’ve read? I feel like I need to take a shower after finishing this but I also sort of loved being in Eileen’s fucked up mind. Every sentence was so full of disturbing imagery that I felt like I could smell and taste every awful scenario. As much as I didn’t want to relate to Eileen, this was definitely of one of the most accurate depictions I’ve read of the intense shame that surrounds growing up female. Didn’t know there was a movie until I read other reviews so that’s next up on my to-do list now!

It took 200 pages for much of anything to happen and the book is under 300 pages. I so badly want to be in the Moshfegh club but this was too slow for me.
Moderate: Alcoholism
Ottessa Moshfegh is Chuck Palahniuk for women. Took off a star just because I didn't looooove it, but an enjoyable and dark read.

I read this book simply so I could read jacob’s review of this… and needless to say he summed my thoughts quite well. Always a pleasure miss ottessa
