As always, amazing writing style. I will always eat up any book with an unreliable narrator. However, some of the themes of this felt so uncomfortable and pushed boundaries that went a bit too far.
I don't like to leave negative reviews, and this was well-written — or I would have abandoned it. But I think I'm missing something; I just don't get it. Eileen is unlikable and nothing interesting happens until about 80% into the book.

Eileen reminds me of Esther from The Bell Jar. If you enjoy reading from that kind of perspective, you'll probably enjoy this too. I didn't—but the plot itself was significantly more interesting than the Bell Jar's.
