Sooo bleak

Eileen is a little pee pee poo poo freak and I don’t know how they’re going to cull enough Anne Hathaway content to turn this into a movie.

Edit: I amended my rating to 5 stars because I can’t stop thinking about this stupid book.

So good but it definitely was a slow burn. Takes a second to get going. But the twist was so perfect and the ending tied the story together nicely. Eileen is a woman in her rawest form and I loved how she was written. Kudos to Moshfegh for writing a protagonist I can relate to in my darkest, grimiest hours.

disappointing! it sounded great and my year of rest of relaxation is my favorite book oat, but i genuinely didn’t like reading this and it honestly just made me so incredibly depressed and disgusted. i wish we spent less time on eileen cause she was just such a let down of a character to see the world through. i hope the movie is better!
