Kingsbane
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was chefs kisses. No but honestly, I couldn’t put it down at the end! Okay okay, I might have prioritized finishing this book over doing my assignments... I knooooow but I couldn’t stop myself! Now I have tons of work to do, but it was worth it! Also, that ending... I don’t even know what to say

Not as action-packed or cohesive as the first installment of the trilogy, but definitely more than filler between setup and conclusion. Serious character development and revelations happen! Love to see that in a book 2 of 3. The final sequences are thrown at you a little too quickly to process them in my opinion.

Fabulous improvement from the first book. Characters are more smoothly developed, the writing is tighter and more intense, and the storyline is gripping in a way that the first book lacked.
My only gripe is the time travel plot; but as it's a personal preference (I hate time travel plots in any form, although this one is decent in that it addresses that even the smallest thing can severely impact the future) it doesn't really detract from the book overall. Solid sequel, and I'm excited for the third and final book.
