So cute. Loved that MC was a POC, and Asian too! She was cool as was the hero. Loved how it came together.

Such a refreshing and enjoyable romance, with a fascinating premise to boot. Felicity Chen is a successful romance author who has not had as much luck with her own love life. When approached by a producer to star in a reality dating show, she decides to push her luck and make it into a real-life romance novel. There have been quite a few books written lately about reality TV dating shows, but there are quite a few things that make The True Love Experiment unique. Fizzy is a 37-year-old Asian woman who is confident and assertive, but also endearing and relatable. The drama in the book is not propelled by miscommunication but rather by unfortunate timing and work commitments. Connor's daughter and Fizzy's niece also add a youthful spin to the narrative, without succumbing to the insufferable tween trope.
The clever banter and sizzling chemistry between Connor and Fizzy is what makes this book stand out from the pack. The sexual tension is palpable and there are just enough steamy scenes to keep me hooked and wanting more. The story is not contrived or cheesy, and the struggles they encounter are completely realistic. Even though I knew how the story would end (happily ever after), I was so curious as to the journey we would take to get there.

What an unexpected delight! I won't lie, I picked up this book because of the cover, and it just so happened the premise was interesting.

I enjoyed reading this. The witty banter is good, chemistry oke, and please cowoknya green flag!
dnf-ed at 50%. I really loved The Unhoneymooners and to an extent, even The Paradise Problem, but this one just didn't seem to do the trick. Unfortunately, the characters came off as superficial puppets and throughout the half of the book I did read, there was a very heavy emphasis on the physical attraction which I couldn't connect with. I would've also loved it if the book didn't read like a fanfiction I would've come across on Wattpad a few years ago with the gen-z lingo that randomly crept in. It totally threw me off.
If you're into a feel-good, very unserious book, this would be the right pick for you. Sadly, for me, there was as much chemistry between Fizzy and Connor as there is between mayonnaise and chocolate. Which is to say, none.
I'm also not a huge fan of the cheating trope.

This was shockingly fun and heartwarming and lovely. I like everything written by Christina Lauren and this British TV production grump absolutely is no exception!!

Älskade boken!! Denna författarduo är något helt annat, så glad att jag hittade den. Älskar Fizzy och Conner och deras banter, otroligt.
