Interesting but not that absorbing. The last mortal man obviously isn't quite right seeing as there are people other than him without any nanotechnology, though from choice not an allergy. And while I made it though this book I won't be looking for the rest.

One of the best Sci fi books I've read. The concept is really strong and all the characters have a solid mix of flaws and iminspiring characteristics. The book works as a standalone novel which is good because they never published the 2nd installment. My edition has the first chapter of the never published 2nd book at the end which was a bit unfortunate as I read it before realizing that it was never finished. Well worth a read but go into it knowing you won't get to experience any more of this universe.

One of the most memorable SciFi books I've read in the 2000s, and one of the best plots involving attempts at longevity through technology.
