3.86 AVERAGE

This was brilliant, I absolutely adored it. So funny and low-angst, with lovable characters, pining and sweetness. My kind of romcom, can’t wait to read more by the author!

3.5. It was sweet and I was fairly invested but it didn’t really stir emotions for me.

This is a perfect book and I loved it so so much.

THIS BOOK WAS SO FREAKING CUTE. THE FLUFFY, MEET-CUTE WLW ROMANCE MY HEART DESIRED.

highlights:

- quirky relatives and artist friends
- sex toy stores
- conversations about falling out of and back in love with your craft
- slow burns
- plane montages
- high funerals

loved!

The setting of this book was very creative, and I loved that the two main characters seem to compliment each other well. I enjoyed this book overall, though at time it moved a bit slow. Selena drove me nuts sometimes with how she was clinging to a bad system for the shop, but I though that was realistic. I would have been as horrified as Cade by the clutter, so I definitely felt that tension.

I loved that Selena was an artist, and I thought the abusive relationship was handled sensitively. Cade’s own history of sexual issues was complex and realistic. I wanted the ending to play out slightly differently, but I love how Cade supported Selena without overshadowing her or taking over. Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I think this was maybe a 3.5 for me - there were parts of it that were really inspired, and I loved a lot of the side characters. I would read their books if that happened. But some of it felt kind of surface-y.
