I had very high hopes for this book but unfortunately it just fell flat in the end. The premise is great, total opposite women have inherited a failing sex shop together. One of the biggest things that bugged me was that the typically in this trope, the business succeeds. This doesn't happen here and it makes that whole plot point feel really hollow and sad. I did love how sex positive the book was, though I wish there was a bit more chemistry between the women. As a reader, I found that I couldn't buy into the relationship because it felt more forced. I think this isn't a bad rom com, but it definitely wasn't what I expected either.
This book is unhinged but I liked it regardless! I honestly feel like there wasn't enough about sex toys in it for a sex toy store book? Highly recommend the audio book of this because it's well acted!
There were a few things that made my eyes roll. I feel like the book treated the reader as someone who already knew a lot about sex positivity and toys. As someone who does know a bit about such things I was like "okay and elaborate". Selena's rants about it weren't super accessible.

i don’t regret reading this — sapphic happily ever afters are great and much needed. and this felt exactly like the just-scratches-the-surface, tropey, goofy, spicy, romance books all the straight girlies love. it was nice to read a cheesy romance book about two women, but if you try to think critically about the plot, the conflicts, why the two are attracted to each other (besides “she’s hot and i’m horny!”), or the character arcs (if you could even call them that) the whole thing comes apart. not to mention the overall TERFy vibes that get pointed out by a character then swept under the rug IMMEDIATELY. 🤔 funny at times, cringey at others, sexy and sweet. probably not my cup of tea going forward. eh.

This book wonderfully explored two extremes of several different types of characters. On one hand you have a sexually repressed former artist turned business woman and on the other you have a sexually celebrating artist of vulvas. Together they have to make things work, or together they will fail.
The cabin scene was everything.
My only issue here was that it felt like too many tropes were attempted which left some loose ends.
