The FMC was just not likable. She just kept throwing herself at the MMC and being annoyingly persistent but in an uncomfortable way. Devlin was fine I guess, but there was just too much going on with this book. It's the set up for a three book arc so it was slow to start and I really could not get into it even once the plot twists and turns started hitting around mid storyline. Will not continue the series even though I already own the second.

This book was won in a Goodreads giveaway.
I have read quite a few of J. Kenner's books and this one broke my heart.
Young love, broken hearts, tragedy, poor Ellie has had too much of these emotions/feelings.
She meets Alex and she hopes that her life will change, that he loves her as much as she loves him, but once again catastrophe and misfortune falls upon her. Years later, and she is still reeling and dealing with her past in the only way she knows how, to live dangerously and precariously in everything she does.
This story was beautiful and devastating at the same time. I truly loved this story and I am looking forward to book 2!

I was provided a copy of this book so that I could leave an honest review.

Can never go wrong with a J. Kenner book. This book was just what I needed after the past 18 months of academic text books.
Devlin Saint was no saint. It left me wanting more, like always, so that was no surprise for me. J. Kenner is my favorite author and I always eagerly await her next book.

Trying to get answers into the death of her uncle, Ellie needs to travel back to the place she spent much of her teenage years. Gathering information puts her right in Devlin Saint's path. When secrets are revealed it pushes them both together. Right or Wrong the spark between them is instant. But Devlin has too many skeletons in his closet and some of those lead Ellie to wonder where his alliances lie. Can Ellie and Devlin connect in all of the chaos? Or will the answers she needs put her in harms way? Is Devlin more of a Saint or a Sinner? I went into this story thinking that J. Kenner could not create a better place than Stark World. The readers have always loved Damien and Nikki and to trying to recreate the wheel might not go as well. But boy was I wrong. From the very first interaction with Devlin the reader becomes instantly aware of the character's power and grace. With a plot that kept on changing and an awesome connection between Ellie and Devlin, J. Kenner has once again proved her writing skills with masterful story telling.

J. Kenner knows how to deliver a tortured alpha that everyone will fall for hard. Saint is exactly the sinner I want in my bed.

Wow, get ready for a wild ride. Honestly if you've read any of J. Kenner's work you should be prepared for the unexpected.

Ellie Holmes is an investigative reporter seeking to uncover who committed a murder. She's used to loss in her life and it makes her willing to take risks others might not. When she's assigned to do a piece on Devlin Saint Foundation she's forced to face some of her own demons.
Devlin Saint is an enigmatic businessman and philanthropist. He's also hiding in the shadows of secrets. Providing Ellie details for her article comes at a great risk to them both. Yet the time for confessions may help protect them both.

My flame is officially lit for J. Kenner's newest series. WOW doesn't come close to how good this book is!
If you're already a fan of Ms. Kenner, and her incomparable skill in crafting romantic suspense, Devlin Saint and Ellie Holmes are EVERYTHING you want in a leading man and woman. When Ellie, now a grown journalist, returns home to the Southern California beach town where she grew up, it's only to cover a story about Devlin Saint and his famous foundation. She doesn't intend to stay long, since there are bittersweet memories around every corner--but that's before she discovers that those memories, as well as Saint himself, may be the keys to a much bigger story--as well as a multitude of unanswered questions from her youth.
This read was absolutely my favorite from Ms. Kenner--and believe me, I'm as nuts about the Stark books as everyone else! This new world is effortless and exciting to dive into, and includes all of the layered emotions, glamorous settings, and heart-pulsing plot lines that have become hallmarks of this author's amazing talent. An awesome bonus is a cast of secondary characters that has me hoping this world will continue for many stories to come.

What a great start for this new series by J. Kenner! I’m excited to see where she takes this relationship in the next book(s?)! I think I might even like it better than the Stark series!
