Its all they say it is....I'm going to read it again as soon as I get through my "to read" pile....
I am aghast when Mr.Frankl recounts the atrocities by the nazis in the concentration camps of Auschwitz in the first section of this book.. In this age, where there are books galore on the so called Happiness, this book was an eye-opener for me.Happiness is always a by-product of a well-lived life. There is nothing wrong in the pursuit of happiness, but it should be backed by a strong reason. That is what makes life beautiful.
This book made me familiar with the concepts of logo therapy such as the existential frustrations, hyper-intention, paradoxical intentions, anticipatory anxiety, noological neuroses, unemployment neuroses and much more. What we should learn from this book is that we should heroically face pain, guilt and death that we come across in our life with dignity. That's the way to live a life of meaning. Mr Frankl calls this as tragic optimism. Suffering endued with meaning can be one of the hallmark achievements of one's life, because that is what makes worth life living. Free will might be a myth. But, it is the feeling of choice-the feeling that we are in charge of our destiny, which makes life worth living.
