This was a pleasant surprise for me! Who knew what I was missing in these 'dark romances' was a fine bi4bi table setting. Psychologically, it made a huge difference - few heterosexual men are truly erotic in my book. For my two cents, this book nearly manages to pull off what a lot of books in its genre fail at with clinically unsexy grimdark MMCs.

Good book overall, enjoyable plot and character building. I would have enjoyed more back story on the god and their link to the land etc. Im guessing the eld are creatures similar to those in folklore called wendigo's. We also never learn Leon's real name or what his full backstory is beyond him being a few hundred years old. Besides these details that peak my curiosity, the book is a fun ride and brings a different perspective to Demons and gods.

I couldn't get into it. There's only so many books that I can handle where the MMC is some centuries old creature that is completely smitten whipped to the bland boring plain FMC. Like I don't get it. The plot and excitement were fun, I just didn't like the characters.

This book follows Leon who is a demon that for centuries has been under the control of a not so great family.
Rae is a college student and also a paranormal investigator who ends up moving back to her childhood town to attend school.
Leon is immediately intrigued by Rae and she has no idea what to make of him. When the family that Leon is under control of sets their sights on Rae things get really complicated.
If you like paranormal books with demons, witches and all the spooky vibes (seriously I was creeped out at some parts) then I think you’ll like this. Also super spicy.
Will definitely be reading the next two books which I’m pretty sure I know who the couples will be as they are introduced in this book.
