Scum was an intense, dark, and thrilling, hot ride. I devoured this book; it was a fantastic read, and I loved these two bad boys.

Shane is one dumb idiot. Of course he wants revenge for his time wrongfully spent in prison, but can you be more moronic about it. So, I think the plot is a bit weak and too forced in the beginning. Shane's friends are also more annoying than they are good additions to the story.
So, that's why there are only 4 stars for this one. Why are there still four? Well, I am very happy with the character of Rosen.
Rosen has a wonderfully playful character, a bit naive, but also so strong. Very sincere and authentic, firm in his emotions. Admirable how he doesn't bend and how he stands by Shane despite his wrongdoings.

Ros got up and hugged him, pushing his pretty face into the folds of Shane’s T-shirt. “You’ve been amazing to me. You matter to me. My heart’s never pounded so hard and fast. For anyone. All I want is to cuddle, feed you cake, and then fuck your brains out. I can’t explain why, but I don’t really want to overthink it.”

I didn't love this one? I wish there was a bit more time spaced out that the leads were together. It's kinda hard to be on board with the instalove that after a month-ish of dating you'd be down to get rid of a dead body together? With no repercussions?? The revenge porn angle I absolutely hated and wished that there was a different route chosen for getting back at the evil dad. I needed 100% more groveling and trust building before they got back together. Also there was a huge emphasis on how awful someone's life is if they're poor which felt off the mark for me. I know we're in bonkers territory with Merikan books, maybe this one was toeing the line of contemporary a bit too closely for me? Or the Hades & Persephone plot went above my head.

I do want to read the next book in the series though, I'll gladly try out the Tarzan retelling.

I absolutely love the writing style of this book.. It is dark, and Shane is a true bad boy not a hero! Ros is young, innocent and the target of Shane's revenge on his father for putting him prison. Shane just jumps in to take that revenge which at first site he decides is beautiful Ros! These two are unbelievably hot and steamy together right from chapter one! It is an unhealthy relationship with all the lies and secrets! This book is full of drama.. Shane is not just instantly redeemed by love.. he makes bad decisions and hurts Ros... But you will have to read yourself to see how everything works out! I received an ARC of this book and recommend for those looking something more gritty with an age gap and very opposite guys finding what they need in each other!

The kind of book you didn't know you needed but glad you read.
After reading so many of their works, these ladies still manage to surprise me with their talent. Shane and Rosen, headlined one gripping dark romance that marks the beginning of a series I look forward to seeing more of.

**I received this ARC for my honest feedback.**

Kat and Agnes thank you for existing and writing these wonderful dark stories for us:)

What a great first book of the series, makes you really want to read all those crazy misfits!

So Shane, an ex-convict who  just left prison after 10 years sentenced, was wrongly accused of a murder he didn't commit, but rather Ros's father did... So vengeance is the only option, and ruining Rosen is the only option... He didn't count on falling for the boy and screwing everything up...

Rosen is an art student who deals drugs on the side. He's gay, but he has to stay in the closet so his father continues to support him... He falls big time for Shane just by looking at him, and it's lust/fuck/cherry pop at first sight. He totally trusts him and surrenders... and it does not see it coming... the pain and betrayal...

1 word for you: GAZEBO, and not in a Bridgerton kind of way... more in a hot, dirty kind of way!

The story is simple. They are very sweet together, and after some very unforgivable events, this grovelling from Shane made this whole book shine... No pushing, just pure and total adoration in search of forgiveness. LOEVD IT!

Kat and Agnes make us love the unlovable and pray for the misfits to have it all, while continuing to keep their dark way if life. Nothing compares to their stories at all!

We also have some funny moments Jag and Dex are hysterical, and I can't wait to read their books***
