A nice enough book, fast to read and and interesting concept. It might be better when you've read the previous books in the Cogheart series, because of 'old friends' coming back. Lily's friends are endearing! As it is, the book sometimes was just too black and white, the characters a bit too one sided, although I do understand this is a fine line with books for a younger audience.

I received a free copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.

A utterly triumphant return to the Cogheart world, SKYCIRCUS is a rip roaring adventure like no other, and happens to feature my new favourite named character—Professor Manceplain.

Finished it! Only one last book now to wrap up this story.🥰 I enjoyed this one, there was so much action throughout, it really kept me engaged.

“Most people who fall in their dreams wake before they hit the ground.
She never did.
Instead, she dreamed of flying.
In that split second before she crashed to earth, she would throw her arms out wide, stretch her fingers like feathers, and swoop like a bird.
Drink the air.
Kiss the clouds.
Swallow the sky in one great glorious gulp.
Before an angry red sun burned her from the heavens…
And she tasted only ash in her mouth.”

Book 56/?
~The Story Girl

Thoroughly enjoyable suspenseful adventure back to the Cogheart world, but sadly not enough happened for me - it was all a bit easily solved, and the motivations were too similar to the first book.

I did love getting to see more of Lily and Robert, and especially Malkin (💙💙💙). And I adored the concept of the Skycircus - as what it should be rather than what it had become, obviously!

There’s also some great themes about being yourself and accepting others :)

I put off reading this book for months because Usborne sent it to me wrapped up super prettily, but I needed a pick-me-up & decided it was time to unwrap it. Skycircus isn’t my favourite book in this series, but it was still wonderful & I adore this world, & it’s characters, that Peter Bunzl has created; I enjoyed every page of this book & really hope there’s a fourth book soon.

I was sent this book by the publisher in return for an honest review
