An eloquent depiction of things I’ve experienced as a woman! It made me feel less alone in my frustration and rage of dealing with men. The dichotomy of feelings surrounding small infractions of men towards women has been something I’ve seen but I’ve never been able to put into words. 10/10

I guess people will pick this up because the author is John Mulaney’s ex, but there is not a single mention of him in the entire book. Instead it’s a detailed description of her relationships with other men, most of which were negative, and her time spent at a psychiatric hospital for depression, anxiety, and self harm.

This book is a memoir and I did not connect with the author on an emotional or intellectual level. I don’t think it’s poorly written. But I can’t imagine recommending this book to anyone I know. I just couldn’t find any insight or incorporation here. Your mileage may differ.

anna marie tendler is a great writer and no doubt has gone through horrible things but this just felt like i was reading an abridged journal of hers and didn’t take much from it

It was a little odd and no introspection i got lost at times

Inhaled this audiobook in two days. AMT’s reflections on mental health and misogyny were moving, and while my interest waned a bit during her reflections on IVF and her aging dog, it was an overwhelmingly worthwhile read.
